Thomas & Thomas Security award scholarships to three local graduates

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —
Thomas & Thomas Security CEO Trent Thomas recently awarded scholarships to three local graduates in recognition of their hard work, determination, accomplishments and commitment to their future goals.
The recipients are Marquise Overton, a graduate of Warren Central High School; Janiyah Hall, a graduate of Vicksburg High School; and Marquis Knight, a 2026 graduate of Vicksburg High School.
Overton received a $250 scholarship after being selected by Thomas based on his outstanding scholarship essay. Following graduation, Overton plans to enter the workforce and is focused on building a successful future through dedication, responsibility and hard work.
Hall received a $250 scholarship. She completed her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification and plans to attend Hinds Community College, where she will major in Nursing and continue preparing for a career in healthcare.
Knight received a $500 scholarship. The 2026 Vicksburg High School graduate is attending Millsaps College, where he is majoring in Computer Science and is a member of the football team. His commitment to continuing his education while competing as a student-athlete reflects the determination and drive Thomas and Thomas Security seeks to encourage through its investment in local youth.
Through these scholarship awards, Thomas and Thomas Security recognizes that success after high school can take many paths, including higher education, career and technical training, athletics, entrepreneurship and direct entry into the workforce.
Thomas and Thomas Security congratulates Overton, Hall, Knight and all local graduates as they pursue their goals. The company remains committed to investing in local youth and supporting the next generation of leaders in the community.
In 2025, Thomas and Thomas was named Business of the Year by the Vicksburg Homecoming Benevolent Club.
