Porter’s Chapel earns first softball win since 2024 with 13-2 victory over Magnolia
Porter’s Chapel Academy’s softball team secured its first win since 2024 with a 13-2 victory over Magnolia. The Lady Eagles showcased a strong offense, scoring five runs in the first inning and six in the second.

Porter’s Chapel Academy’s softball team picked up its first win since 2024 on Saturday with a 13-2 victory over the Magnolia Wildcats.
The Lady Eagles produced 10 hits in the win and jumped out to an early lead behind a strong performance at the plate.
PCA head coach Billy White was pleased to see his team break through with a victory.
“I’m proud and to get a win this early is good,” White said. “We’ve been hitting good lately and we played some games early so I gave them the week off so I believe they were refreshed.”
PCA scored five runs in the first inning. Lauren Rae Davis and Mia Abdo delivered RBI singles to get the Lady Eagles going. Marley Busby followed with a two-run single before Brooklynn Nicholson drove in another run to give PCA a 5-0 lead.
The Lady Eagles continued their offensive surge with six runs in the second inning. Abdo and Kylie Poole each hit triples, while Coley Potter smashed a double. Marleigh Clark, Busby and Davis also drove in runs during the inning.
Davis and Busby later drove in PCA’s final runs of the game.
Poole led the Lady Eagles at the plate by going 3-for-3 with one RBI. Busby finished with two hits and four RBIs, while Abdo had two hits and one RBI.
Potter had one hit and one RBI, Davis finished with one hit and two RBIs, and Raedon Busby added one hit. Nicholson also drove in one run.
Nicholson struck out two batters in the win.
PCA will return to action at 3 p.m. Saturday against Carroll Academy at Halls Ferry Park.
St. Aloysius falls to Manchester Academy
St. Aloysius suffered an 8-2 loss to Manchester Academy on Saturday.
Lizzie McSherry, Megan Theriot and L. Usry each recorded one hit for the Lady Flashes.
Joy Dement struck out three batters, while seventh grader Bryleigh Landers entered the circle in relief for St. Aloysius.
