Vicksburg’s Trinity McGloster is now playing softball at Rust College
Vicksburg native Trinity McGloster is now playing softball at Rust College after transferring from Jackson State University. The 2025 Vicksburg High School graduate aims to contribute to the team following a strong high school career.
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —
Vicksburg native Trinity McGloster has found a new home on the softball diamond as she is now playing at Rust College.
McGloster, a 2025 Vicksburg High School graduate, informed the Vicksburg Daily News of her new playing home Monday.
“It feels great having the opportunity to sign and showcase my skills, but overall it’s a complete blessing,” McGloster said.
McGloster spent several seasons starring for the Missy Gators and put together a strong senior campaign. She finished her final season with a .315 batting average, 23 hits and nine RBIs before signing with Jackson State University.
She was also part of the Vicksburg team that defeated crosstown rival Warren Central for the first time in program history. McGloster capped her high school career by being named the 2025 Female Athlete of the Year.
McGloster spent one season at Jackson State, where she was redshirted, before making the move to Rust College.
The move also brings McGloster back to a school that showed early belief in her abilities. Rust College was the first school to offer her a scholarship while she was in high school.
McGloster now joins a Rust program coming off a historic 2025 season in which it doubled its win total from the previous year. Three Rust players also earned HBCUAC Player of the Week honors during the season.
With the program losing several players from last year’s team, McGloster is eager to contribute as Rust moves forward.
“I’m ready to help them rebuild the team because we’ve lost a few players from last year, so I’m ready to see what this new opportunity brings,” McGloster said.
McGloster’s first official season at Rust College is scheduled to begin in February.
