Warren County man sentenced for statutory rape
A Warren County man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for statutory rape after pleading guilty. The case involved a 14-year-old victim, and Standish will also be required to register as a sex offender upon release.
A Warren County man was sentenced to 15 years in prison Friday after pleading guilty to statutory rape.
Judge Toni Terrett sentenced Shane Standish to 20 years, with five years suspended and 15 years to serve.
Standish entered the guilty plea Friday and was represented by defense attorney Daniel Edney. Assistant District Attorney Liem Walker represented the state and provided details of the case during the court proceeding.
Walker said Warren County Deputy Dusty Keyes responded to a sexual assault call on Highway 80 in May 2025. The victim, who was 14 years old at the time, reported that Standish touched her breast and had sex with her.
According to information presented in court, Standish admitted to a family member of the victim that he touched the girl’s breast but denied penetrating her.
DNA samples were also collected as part of the investigation.
Walker told the court that the Warren County District Attorney’s Office spoke with the victim’s father and that they agreed to the 15-year sentence.
Terrett also ordered Standish to register as a sex offender following his release from prison.
