Rashandra Laws Enhances Urology Services
Merit Health River Region has welcomed Rashandra F. Laws, DNP, APRN, NP-C, PMHNP-BC, to its Urology Clinic.
Experience and Expertise
Laws, a nurse practitioner with more than 10 years of health care experience, will work alongside Dr. Fagan to provide urologic care to patients in Vicksburg and the surrounding community.
Laws brings a broad clinical background that includes patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and care coordination. She has experience caring for patients across the lifespan and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary health care teams to develop individualized treatment plans.
Her clinical experience also includes evaluating patients, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, providing acute and clinical care, and working with patients and other health care providers to support their overall health and well-being.
Laws earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Southern Mississippi School of Nursing. She received her Master of Science in nursing with a focus on family nurse practitioner from the Alcorn State University School of Nursing and her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the Mississippi College School of Nursing.
She also completed post-master’s certificates in adult-gerontology acute care at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and psychiatric mental health nursing at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Her certifications include credentials through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Before joining Merit Health River Region, Laws served as a family nurse practitioner with Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center, the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Serenity Premier Hospice.
Laws also previously served as a nursing instructor at Hinds Community College, providing her with experience in both clinical practice and nursing education.
As a member of the Merit Health River Region urology team, Laws will focus on providing compassionate, coordinated and patient-centered care while working with referring providers and the patients they serve.
