Vicksburg High volleyball sweeps Lanier in three sets

Vicksburg High School’s volleyball team secured a 3-set win against Lanier, with standout performances from Jermaria Wright and Alaina Williams. The Missy Gators will host Cleveland Central on Thursday.

Vicksburg High School’s volleyball team earned a 3-set victory over Lanier on Tuesday night.

The Missy Gators won 28-26, 25-17 and 25-22, battling through a close opening set before taking control of the match.

Vicksburg had several players contribute on both offense and defense. Jermaria Wright and Kenley Henderson led the defensive effort with more than 20 digs apiece, while Alaina Williams led the team with 14 points and three aces.

Individual statistics from the win:

  • Jermaria Wright: Two aces, 13 points, 23 digs
  • Peyton White: One dig
  • Alaina Williams: Three aces, 14 points, 15 digs
  • Madisyn Kimble: Six points
  • Imani Kelly: Two points, four digs
  • Maleah Davis: Three points, 10 digs
  • Zaria Jones: 10 points, 18 digs
  • Divine Tulloch: 10 points, 16 digs
  • Kenley Henderson: Two aces, 13 points, 22 digs
  • Layla Johnson: Two points, 10 digs
  • Harmony Harris: Two points, seven digs

The Missy Gators will return home Thursday to host Cleveland Central.
