VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Vicksburg Police Department has made arrests of individuals involved in a widely shown fight on 61 South at Grange Hall.

The Vicksburg Police Department responded to a call for service involving multiple individuals fighting on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the intersection of Grange Hall Road and Highway 61 South. A video of the incident was later circulated on social media.

As a result of the investigation, the following individuals were arrested and charged:

• Latina Smith – Disorderly Conduct

•Tanysha Newsome – Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Disturbing the Peace, Aggravated Assault with a Weapon

•Ayani Marshall – Disorderly Conduct

• Mejatue Parker – Disorderly Conduct

• Takiya Newsome – Disturbing the Peace • Andrea Pecot – Disorderly Conduct

“This type of behavior will not be tolerated in our community,” said Chief Larry Burns. “Those who choose to engage in reckless and dangerous conduct will be identified and held accountable. We will continue to take swift action to ensure the safety of our citizens and maintain order in the City of Vicksburg.”
