Blaze engulfs Longview home for second time

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A structure fire broke out early Monday morning on Longview Street, marking the second time the same home has burned within the past year, according to Vicksburg Fire Chief Derrick Stamps.

“At approximately 6:02 a.m., the Vicksburg Fire Department received a report of a structure fire on Longview Street,” said Stamps. “When firefighters arrived, they found the building fully engulfed in flames. Demonstrating their expertise, the crews rapidly initiated an exterior attack to bring the fire under control.”

No injuries were reported.

The residence was undergoing renovations following a previous fire that occurred on Thanksgiving Day in 2024, Stamps said.
