Blue Waves won their second consecutive District Championship on Friday
Port Gibson High School’s boys’ basketball team dominated over Jefferson County with a score of 71-52, securing the District Championship on Friday.
With an impressive 33-18 lead at halftime, Kam Brown and Clyde Johnson showcased their skills for the Blue Waves. In the second half, Royale Shelvy stepped up for JC, sinking a
couple of 3-pointers, while Stanley Starks contributed with a few shots. Meanwhile, Markel Derby and Brown maintained the Blue Waves’ momentum in the third quarter, and
Jaylen Hill came alive in the fourth quarter, ultimately helping PG secure the victory.
Leading the charge for PG was Brown, scoring an impressive 26 points, closely followed by Johnson with 14. Derby made a significant contribution with 12 points, and Hill rounded off the team’s performance with 10 points.
For JC, Shelvy led the team with an impressive 21 points, and Starks added an additional 19 points to their score.
