The Port Gibson High School girls’ basketball team emerged victorious as the District Champions with a hard-fought 46-41 win over South Pike on Friday.

Impressively, Ger’Kiya Flowers played a pivotal role in the victory, sinking three 3-pointers and accumulating total of 14 points throughout the game. Not to be outdone, Rekiyah
Washington contributed 12 points, while Amiyah Hedrick showcased her skills with 11 points. Kennaja Goods also made a notable impact on the scoreboard with eight points, and Camara Evans contributed a crucial
free throw.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Lorenzo Thomas, the Blue Waves have displayed excellent teamwork and determination, resulting in their current impressive 15-7 record.

Looking ahead, the team is eagerly preparing to host Noxubee County on Monday.
