WARREN COUNTY, Miss. (VDN) — A routine traffic stop late Thursday night led to the arrest of a Bolton man wanted in Hinds County on a fugitive warrant for convicted felon in possession of a firearm, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Just after 11 p.m., Deputy Joseph Stubbs stopped a 1999 Toyota 4Runner on Henry Lake Road for a traffic violation. A check through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) revealed that the driver, Kenneth Brown, 44, from Bolton, was wanted in Hinds County. Subsequent to his arrest, Deputy Stubbs discovered a Taurus 9mm handgun inside the vehicle.

Brown was charged with convicted felon in possession of a firearm and was given a $50,000 bond after an initial appearance before Judge Randy Lewis. Brown also has a no-bond detainer placed on him in Hinds County, meaning if he makes bail for the Warren County charge, he will be transferred to Hinds County.

A female passenger in the vehicle was also taken into custody on a misdemeanor warrant with the Vicksburg Police Department, Pace said.
