Carolyn Cole was born on February 5, 1934, in Utica, Mississippi and passed away on October 30, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her mother and father Nellie Scott and Francis Marion Martin, her sister Bobby J. Porter Martin, brother Francis Michael Martin, niece Vicky Carol Porter and nephew Mark Steven Porter, her first son Francis David Sullivan.

Cole leaves behind one son Robert Allan Sullivan (Susan) of Florida and two brothers Robert Wayne Martin and Terry Lee Martin (Lorna), two nieces Toni Faye Doyle and Carla Dawn Porter, and her very best friend Sherry Skates who was like a daughter to her.

Carolyn retired from the Old South Winery at the age of 82.  She loved talking to people that came into the store about the different wines and how they were made.

In her free time, Cole knitted hats for years and donated them to the stew pot.  She also loved doing genealogy for people and she was a true Historian about Mississippi and loved working in her yard.  In the 1980s her home was featured on the front page of Better Homes and Gardens.

ln her younger years she would feed stray cats that came to her home and then take them to be spayed and neutered.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thurdsay, November 2, 2023, at Utica Cemetery.  Rev. Roger Cresswell will preside over the service.
