Marie Jobe Castle 1942-2023

Marie Jobe Castle passed away on November 6, 2023, at Merit Health River Region.  She was 81.

Marie was born in Tallulah, LA on July 27, 1942, the daughter of James Benton Jobe, Jr. and Lillie Mae Miller Jobe.  She worked for Vicksburg Video and Cox Media and was known as the Advertising Lady.  She was a member at Goodrum Baptist Church where she worked and served for many years. She loved the Lord who gave her a life worth living.

Marie had a love for oil painting, flowers and gardening, but most of all her family. She enjoyed watching game shows and LSU football with her great-grandson C.J.  She loved shopping and oil painting with her sister Linda, visiting and talking with family and friends so much it was always said, “She could sell a refrigerator to and Eskimo.” Later in life she had a special love for her little dog, Chloe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sons James Ray Moore and Robert Michael Moore and siblings Kathleen Marshall, Jennie Wilhite, Erma Lee Carrender, Melva Jean Jobe, Nellie Simmons, Sonny Jobe, Robert Steward Jobe and Tommy Jobe.

She is survived by her loving husband Judd Castle of 26 years. Other survivors are son Gregory Todd Moore (Tabatha), sister Linda Vines (Huey), brother Ray Jobe, grandchildren Paige Moore, Alexis Moore, Robbie Moore, Brooke Nevels and Landon Nevels and great-grandchildren Christopher Joel Mann, Jr., Jacob Lee Kemp, Channing Elizabeth Marie Kemp, Chandler Cash Kemp, Cholson Kemp, Wyatt Heard, Olivia Nevels, and Gabbi Nevels. Sisters-in-law Lady Jane Vowell, Judy Williams and Dorothy Castle.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Goodrum Baptist Church.  Rev. Dwight Turner and Rev. Tony Monk will preside over the service.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah, LA.

Pallbearers are Robbie Moore, Todd Moore, Tim Jobe, Mark Jobe, Shane Kemp, and Ryan Robinson.
