Rex Kenneth Staggs Jr.: 7/2/1970 – 11/11/23


Rex Kenneth Staggs Jr., age 53, of Vicksburg, MS, departed this life Saturday, November 11, 2023.
A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, MS, Kenny Jr. was born on July 2, 1970. He was a 1988 graduate of Warren Central High School. Kenny Jr. was a familiar face around the Warren County Courthouse. He will be remembered for his many years of service to Warren County through E911, as a volunteer firefighter, and for his many years served in his final role as the Warren County Addressing Coordinator. Growing up on Eagle Lake, Kenny Jr. always coveted an opportunity to watch the sun set over Eagle Lake. He enjoyed attending the annual Natchez Powwow each year as well as exploring natural landmarks in and around Vicksburg. Above all these things, Kenny Jr.’s proudest accomplishment in his life was his baby girl, Stephanie, and being Poppy to Cue and Millie.
Kenny Jr. was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rex and Christene Staggs, his stepfather, Raymond Hill, and his stepbrother, Donald Hill. He is survived by his parents, Rex Kenneth Staggs Sr. and Sandra Staggs of Vicksburg, MS and Pamela Hill of Columbia, MS. He also leaves behind his daughter, Stephanie Sanchez, and his grandchildren, Cue and Millie Sanchez, of Vicksburg, MS. Surviving siblings of Kenny Jr. include Debbie Staggs of Hattiesburg, MS, Lori Staggs of Vicksburg, MS, and Sam Staggs (Danielle) of Pickensville, Alabama along with his nephew, Hudson Staggs, as well as step siblings, Shannon Breeden and Donald Hill. Kenny Jr. leaves behind a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. in Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. till the hour of the service Saturday. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sam Staggs, Chuck Tate, Ronnie Richardson, Nick Davies, Daniel Thomas, Tim Wood, and Logan Earls. Honorary pallbearers will be Mitch Lange, Jamie Street, and Craig Clark.
Family will meet at Southside Baptist Church in the fellowship hall for a meal following the burial.
