City reports 247 arrest records for March of 2024

The City of Vicksburg has released arrest records for the month of March 2024.

The release reports 227 arrest records, with the largest single category being “Capias” warrants. A Capias warrant is one issued by the judge for someone not paying a fine or following court orders.

The list does not include any of the numerous shootings that took place in the city including the one on Levee Street with Vicksburg Police Vehicles within a few feet of the shooting. The VPD was quick to report that shooting but left out critical information about the proximity of their units to the ruckus.

In a video of the event, security guards, who were present at the scene, can be seen shining their flashlights at the VPD units parked next to the ruckus.

At the time of this report, the VPD has yet to report the shooting at Whataburger less than 24 hours after the shooting near the VPD units on Levee Street.
