The Board of Mayor and Aldermen of Vicksburg has terminated its operating agreement with Sports Force Park, according to a statement made at a meeting on Monday.

The City had entered into an operating agreement in 2018 with Sports Force. However, the owner of Sports Force Park, Brian Storm, passed away in 2021. Ripken Sports later purchased Sports Force with the understanding they would operate all the sites under the control of Sports Force.

In January of this year, Ripken notified the City of Vicksburg that they would no longer operate Sports Force Park. Since then, the City has been searching for a new operator for the park.

At next Monday’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting, a new group will introduce itself as the park operator to the community. Alderman Monsour stated, “The company we’ve got coming is an excellent company, and we’re saving money for the city.”
