Convicted Killer Escapes From the Mississippi State Penitentiary

A convicted killer has escaped from the Mississippi State Penitentiary in Sunflower County. 71-year-old Nevin Whetstone escaped on Tuesday and authorities are continuing to search for him.
Whetstone is serving a life sentence for the 1983 murder of Loretta Darlene Steele. She was found dead behind a Tupelo motel.
According to information released, Whetstone is 175 pounds and stands at 6’4. He is a white man with brown eyes who could be wearing green and white pants.
Do not approach the suspect, and call your local law enforcement if you spot him.
