Thursday November 2nd, during Vicksburg’s annual Hit the Bricks event, Day Dream Boutique will celebrate its one year anniversary with a sale event and mimosas.

Vicksburg native Chelsea Whitfield—who you may know as one of the associate pastors with her husband Jordan at Triumph Church, or from her last position as the Director of Development at the Center for Pregnancy Choices—opened Day Dream Boutique in December of 2022 with her mother in law and business partner Datha Whitfield. The store sells women’s clothing and accessories with shoes and some gift items as well.

“I’ve kind of been a fashionista my entire life,” said Whitfield when asked if she always wanted to own a boutique, “I kind of get that from my mother who’s always loved clothes and shoes.”

But that passion for fashion comes second to Whitfield’s more important mission. “The number one thing that I love is making other women feel beautiful,” said Whitfield, “Sometimes a simple outfit can just make us feel amazing for the day; a simple purchase of shoes, a purse, or earrings can make our day sometimes.”

Day Dream Boutique also has a location in Birmingham, Alabama where Datha Whitfield lives. “This one is pretty much my baby,” said Whitfield of the Vicksburg location.

During Hit the Bricks customers will be given a chance to spin a discount wheel, according to Whitfield. In addition, Whitfield explained, “We’ll have 4 or 5 vendors in the store promoting their items; we’ll also have treats and mimosas, stuff like that.”
