Donald D. “Don” Daniels: 1946-2025

VICKSBURG, Miss. — Donald D. “Don” Daniels died Friday, May 9, 2025, at home surrounded by loved ones. He was 79.

Don was born March 9, 1946, in Silver Creek, Miss., to Rhoby R. and Annie Lou Daniels. He was retired from the United States Postal Service.

He was baptized in 1970 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and remained faithful until his death. He served as an elder for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; two sisters; and two nieces.

Donald D. “Don” Daniels is survived by his wife, Melody B. Daniels; one son, Jason P. Daniels (Regina “Reggie”); two grandchildren, Randy A. Daniels and Hannah Daniels Smith; three great-grandchildren, Jake, Jesse, and Judson Smith; one sister, Jackie Daniels Greer; one brother-in-law, Clifton “Butch” Burroughs Jr. (Dawn); one sister-in-law, Eleanor B. “Kay” Daniels; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on June 2, 2025, at Riles Funeral Home with Mark Towery officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
