Eight Flashettes named as All-Americans

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Eight members of the St. Aloysius Flashettes dance team were recently named All-Americans during the Universal Dance Association camp at Mississippi State University.

Raigen Smith, Farrell Roberson, Elizabeth Bednar, Olivia Larsen, Hayden Bell, Marley Gibellino, Megan Theriot and Caroline Ponder earned the honor for their individual performances and leadership. All four team captains — Larsen, Bell, Bednar and Roberson — were among those selected. Bell also received the “Pin It Forward” award, which is given to dancers who demonstrate outstanding character and encouragement to others.

The Flashettes had a strong showing at the camp, earning a Superior Trophy and a bid to the UDA Nationals. The All-American selections mark another milestone for the team, which has established itself as a dominant force in dance competitions.
St. Aloysius has won 10 consecutive state championships and finished in the top five nationally last season. The team is coached by Chesley Lambiotte, who has helped build the Flashettes’ reputation for excellence both on and off the stage.
With their recent accolades, the team looks ahead to another successful season as they prepare to compete on the national level.
