The St. Aloysius High School boys’ basketball team improved their record to 13-9 after a hard-fought victory against Cathedral, with a final score of 55-49 on Thursday.
Korey Sims made a strong start for the Flashes, scoring several shots. However, St. Al found themselves trailing 18-14 at the end of the first
quarter. But with the contributions of Carson Gleese, who had multiple layups, and Anthony McCloud, who sank a crucial 3-pointer, the Flashes managed to take a 32-28 lead by
The second half featured a defensive battle between both teams, but McCloud stepped up in the late stages of the game to secure the win for St. Al. Gleese and Sims both had exceptional performances, scoring 16 points each, while McCloud finished with 15 points.
Carson Henderson and Sadler Lambiotte also made valuable contributions, each adding four points to the team’s victory.
The Lady Flashes faced a tough loss with a final score of 44-16. Maddy McSherry led the team
with eight points, with Farrell Roberson contributing five points.
