Lady Eagles took down River Oaks to remain undefeated

Porter’s Chapel Academy achieved a decisive victory over River Oaks Academy, with a final score of 61-38, thanks to a productive second quarter performance.

Although the Lady Eagles started off slowly, allowing the Mustangs to take an 11-9 lead, they quickly turned the game around. Sophie Masterson and Emily Muirhead made impressive 3-point shots, while Jae’la Smith
contributed multiple baskets to give PCA a comfortable 37-19 lead by halftime.

After the break, Marley Bufkin made a crucial 3-pointer, and Lauren Madison scored several baskets to maintain the Lady Eagles’ advantage. Smith once again dominated in the final quarter, and Mia Abdo also made her mark on the scoreboard.

Smith emerged as the top scorer for PCA (14-0) with an impressive 32 points and five rebounds, while Madison showcased her skills with 10 rebounds and eight points. Bufkin
made a valuable contribution of seven points, Muirhead scored six, and Masterson added five points and nine rebounds. Abdo rounded off the scoring with three points.

Boys:

On the boys’ side, PCA (11-5) suffered a 45-40 loss. Ty Mack exhibited his talent with 17 points and seven rebounds, leading the team. Taylor LaBarre, Jase Jung (who also grabbed
10 rebounds), and Noah each scored six points. Chase Hearn contributed three points, and Gavin White scored two.

The Eagles will face Prairie View Academy on Friday for Senior Night.
