Grease the musical

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) – The Westside Theatre Foundation will present Grease the Musical live on stage at The Strand Theatre in downtown Vicksburg.

With music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, Grease the Musical follows the senior class of 1959 at Rydell High—featuring duck-tailed, hot-rodding Burger Palace Boys and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking Pink Ladies in bobby sox and pedal pushers. The show captures the look, sound and spirit of the 1950s in a high-energy celebration of teen life and rock ‘n’ roll.

The story centers on head greaser Danny Zuko and new good girl Sandy Dumbrowski as they try to rekindle the romance of their “Summer Nights,” while their classmates sing and dance through iconic hits like “Greased Lightnin’,” “It’s Raining on Prom Night” and “Alone at the Drive-In Movie.” The musical evokes the sound of legends like Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley—creating a nostalgic soundtrack that has stood the test of time.

With an eight-year run on Broadway, two major revivals and countless school and community productions, Grease is among the world’s most beloved musicals.

Performances will take place at The Strand Theatre, 717 Clay St., on the following dates:
