Hinds Baseball Team Crushed Southeast Arkansas College

RAYMOND, Miss. – The Hinds Community College Baseball team picked up a 16-8 victory over Southeast Arkansas College on Saturday at Joe G. Moss Field. With the win, the Eagles improve to 2-2 through the first four games of play.
Reed McCrillis got the offense rolling in the top of the first inning when he hit a solo shot to right-center field to give Hinds the early advantage. In the top of the second, the visitors plated three runs to grab the 3-1 lead. The Eagles responded in the third and fourth innings with two runs in the third and four runs in the fourth to regain the 7-3 lead.
After a scoreless fifth inning, Dawson Muenzenmay hit his first homerun of the season to give the Eagles the 8-3 advantage. The Sharks cut into the lead scoring four runs in the top of the seventh inning, but Takorre Clowers and Ryder Moleahit back-to-back homeruns to open the bottom of the seventh inning to spark the offense. The Eagles went on to score six more runs in the inning to take a commanding 16-7 lead going into the eighth inning. SEARK scored one more time in the eighth, but the Eagles went on to seal the deal and grab the 16-8 victory over the SEARK Sharks.
Freshman Brody Breithaupt led the Eagles going 3-for-4 in the contest with one run scored, one double, one homerun, and four RBI. Kaleb Lipscomb also had a three hit game going 3-for-6 from the plate and scored three runs for the Eagles. Ryder Molea earned his first collegiate start for the Eagles and finished the contest with three hits, two runs scored, one double, one homerun, and two RBI. Reed McCrillisalso finished the contest with a three-hit performance to go along with two runs scored and an RBI.
Matthew Azordagan earned the start and win on the mound for the Eagles in his second appearance of the season. Azordagan threw five innings, gave up three runs on seven hits and struck out three batters in the win. Cole Stumph made his first relief appearance of the season and gave up five hits and four runs, while Connor Whatley pitched for an inning and recorded two strikeouts. Freshman Calvin Robinson came in to close the game and shined as he did not give a run or hit as he faced four batters.
The Eagles will return to action on Friday when they travel to Millington, TN to compete in the Perfect Game Invitational. The Eagles first opponent will be against Kansas City Kansas CC at 12 PM at USA Stadium.
