Port Gibson Baseball Team Defeated PCA on Monday

Vicksburg, Miss.-Port Gibson High School baseball team picked up two wins on Monday against Porter’s Chapel Academy on the road. The win put the Blue Waves’ record at 3-1 on the season.
Game 1:
PG took home a 4-3 victory in game one. The Eagles got on the board first in the opening inning after an RBI from Cameron Potter. PG wouldn’t respond until the third inning after a single from Michael Evans that tied the score at 1-1. PCA regained the lead as they went up 3-1 after an RBI from Hunter Simms, and Ethan Gordan scored on a passed ball.
The fourth inning was profitable for PG as they tied the game at 3-3 after Braylin Carter hit an RBI and Laquaveon scored on an error.
Braylin Carter also hit the game-winning RBI in the sixth to put the score at 4-3.
Michael Evans struck out six batters for PG. Laquaveon Derby and Michael each had a hit. Gordan and Fuson each had a hit for PCA. Fuson threw 13 strikeouts.
Game 2:
The Blue Waves finished game 2 with a 15-9 win over the Eagles.
Akeem Wells, Kejaiveyin Watson, and Michael Evans each had two hits. Centrell Hedrick also had a hit while Terrance Evans finished with an RBI. Hedrick stuck out 10 batters.
Fuson and Conley Johnston both hit three RBIs while Cameron Porter, Joèl Parker, Landon McCollough, and Carson Hays each had a hit.
The Blue Waves are scheduled to host Hazelnut on Friday night.
