VICKSBURG, Miss. – Employees at Vicksburg’s Engineer, Research and Development Center, ERDC, received an ominous email asking them to explain what they did last week.

The email was distributed to all Federal employees regarding a reply with 5 bullets of what they did at work last week. According to the email, HQ USACE has stated that chances are high that it is a legitimate communication.

Employees were advised to meet with their supervisor at the beginning of the week for guidance and that there may even be an ERDC-wide email on how to respond.

According to the email, employees were advised to take the legitimacy of the email and the situation seriously.

Staff were advised that if they”… have to respond, they should do so appropriately with a response free of any negativity.” They were then encouraged to “… remain calm and know that you aren’t being singled out in the process.”

ERDC employees were told they have time to respond to the email on Monday and to stand by for guidance from their supervisor.

On their webpage, ERDC says, “The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is the premier research and development center for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. We discover, develop, and deliver innovative solutions to the nation’s toughest challenges in military engineering, installations and operational environments, civil works, geospatial research and engineering, and engineered resilient systems.”
