Jeremy Malone, killed in the line of duty

Jeremy Malone, age 44, passed away January 4, 2024 while serving his community. He was a 1998 graduate of Perry Central High School. He began to pursue a career in community service and graduated MLEOTA in 2002. He has worked with Leakesville Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Biloxi Police Department, Greene County Sherriff’s Department, George County Sheriff’s Department and others. Malone volunteered for many projects while serving, such as the Santa Wears a Badge and The Blue Line Toy Drive. He also worked for Bollinger’s Shipyard and greatly enjoyed time riding with the Lucedale Jeepers. His greatest joy was time with family, his loving wife and precious daughters. Malone was devoted to his loved ones, the communities he served and his fellow Brothers in Blue. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

Malone is preceded in death by his uncle, Shelby Byrd.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Hilary Malone; daughters, Abbie Malone, Alivia Malone and Brooklyn Malone; mother, Sherrye Eubanks; brothers, Jason (Adele) Malone and Scottie (Brittany) Anders; loving aunt, Voncile Byrd; mother-in-law, Connie Coulter; sister-in-law, Heather (Tony) Ferguson; Brothers in Blue throughout multiple agencies in South Mississippi; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Visitation will be Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Agricola Baptist Church from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be Friday, January 12, 2024 in the church sanctuary beginning at 11:00 AM with Bro. Tommy Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Tanners Cemetery in Harlston, Mississippi. Pallbearers include fellow officers in the George County Sherriff’s Department. Honorary Pallbearers include his Brothers in Blue.
