Joyce Kelly Dollar, 76, of Vicksburg, passed away on January 5, 2024.

Joyce was born on March 20, 1947, to Floyd and Christine Kelly in Bonita, LA.

In 1965, Joyce met Nathan at a party on Belle Street.  He was driving a 1954 Chevy that caught her eye. Joyce and Nathan then married on October 8, 1966, and went on to have four children: Tiffany, Jeffrey, Misty, and Kassidy.

After her retirement in 1992 from GNB Inc., Joyce and Nathan moved to Athens, Tennessee, where Joyce enjoyed, for the first time ever, being a stay-at-home mom. This change afforded her time to focus on her family and her interests. For many years Joyce played and coached softball, including girls’ rec ball, girls’ travel ball, and women’s travel teams. She also umpired softball for several years. She had a passion for collecting antiques and went to many estate sales and auctions on the hunt for whatever caught her eye. She loved shopping, especially with her girls, but she loved her family even more. Being an awesome cook and baker, while creating a welcoming home with an open door for everyone, was how she expressed her love for them. On top of all this, Joyce loved Jesus, attending church, and singing old gospel songs.

Joyce was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Nathan, and her parents Floyd and Christine Kelly, a sister, Helen McDowell, and a brother, Floyd Kelly, Jr. She is survived by her children, Tiffany Austin (Stan), Jeffrey Dollar (Carol), Misty Hossley (Albert), and Kassidy Dollar.  Her grandchildren are Hunter Austin (Anna), Effie Dollar, Cruz Hossley, Annie Tucker Hossley, Chandler Wood, Kendal Elqadi, Landy Rae Elqadi, Xander Elqadi, Shiloh Elqadi. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Goodsen (Jeff), Glenda Price (Don),  Elaine Williams (Bruce), and her brothers, Steve Kelly and Jerry Kelly.

Visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home on January 9th from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation in the Glenwood Chapel officiated by Rev. Billy Brumfield.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chad Williams, Robert Hoover, Will Stegall, Scott Hoofman, Scott Betz, and Steve Harmon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Austin, Cruz Hossley, and Arianna Emalee Hardyway.
