Lady Flashes took a close loss in overtime; boys fell short to Hillcrest

St. Aloysius High School girls’ basketball team came out with a 51-45 overtime loss to Hillcrest on Friday night.
The Lady Flashes took an 11-7 first quarter lead after Olivia Larsen hit a 3-pointer. Maddy McSherry hit a few shots in the second quarter but HA eventually went up 20-18 at halftime. Larson hit another 3-pointer in the second half along with a couple of layups.
Midway through the fourth quarter, the Lady Flashes and HA were in a hard fought battle as Taryn Lusby popped a 3-pointer and the game eventually went into overtime with a 38-38 score.
Larsen hit a 3-pointer in overtime but the Lady Flashes eventually fell short 51-45. She led with 14 points on the night and Lusby added nine. McSherry scored seven points and Megan Theriot scored five. Farrell Roberson and Mallory Hobson both put up four points and Anslee Averette scored two.
Boys’ game:
The Flashes took a 60-42 loss where Carson Gleese led with 16 points. Carson Henderson put up eight points and Anthony McCloud added seven.
