Martin Brown defends WBN title, stays unbeaten with unanimous decision victory
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —
Martin Trey Brown continues to prove that experience and determination can still carry a fighter to the top.
The Vicksburg native successfully defended his WBN Intercontinental Super Middleweight Championship on Friday night, earning a unanimous decision over Cleotis Pendarvis in the eight-round main event at the Vicksburg Convention Center.

The victory keeps Brown undefeated as a professional boxer at 9-0 and adds another chapter to a career that continues to gain momentum. At 41 years old, Brown said his journey is far from over, with a potential bare-knuckle title opportunity now on the horizon.
“I’m happy to be here, but he was so crafty and he kept me second guessing,” Brown said. “I’m definitely going back into the lab and get back to it.”
Brown and Pendarvis battled through all eight rounds in a physical contest in which neither fighter was knocked down. The opening three rounds featured heavy body shots from both competitors before Brown seized control in the fourth round, landing a series of right hooks that backed Pendarvis into the ropes.
As fatigue set in during the later rounds, Brown used his reach to maintain the advantage. One body shot to Pendarvis’ abdomen visibly affected his opponent, helping Brown finish strong as he retained his championship belt.
Brown’s victory capped a successful night for River City Knockouts, which drew a large crowd to the Vicksburg Convention Center. The event was promoted by Flowers Promotions and featured seven professional bouts.
