Nine Belhaven Blazers earn All-CCS honors

ATLANTA, Ga. (Belhaven Athletics) — Nine members of the Belhaven Softball team have been named to the Collegiate Conference of the South All-Conference teams as announced by the league on Wednesday. The Blazers saw five players named to the All-CCS First Team including CCS Player of the Year Ellie Jones, three named to the All-CCS Second Team and one named on the All-CCS Sportsmanship team.
Ellie Jones highlights the league’s All-Conference awards release as she earns the CCS Player of the Year award and an All-Conference First Team nod for the first time in her career. Jones led the Blazers in nearly every offensive statistical category and topped the CCS with a 1.535 OPS, .964 Slugging Percentage and 12 Home Runs. Jones also sat second in the league with a .514 average and a .571 on-base percentage.
Reagan Bryan earns an All-CCS First Team selection in her first season as a Blazer. The Belhaven center fielder had a strong debut campaign, hitting .390 which trailed only Jones in the Belhaven lineup. Bryan posted a 1.024 tallying eight doubles and 13 extra-base hits overall. Along with her offensive contribution, Bryan played stellar defense in the middle of the Blazers’ outfield.
Colby Hollinger earns an All-CCS First Team selection for the first time in her Belhaven career. Hollinger, the Blazers’ Designated Player, hit a career-high .341 this season with a .914 OPS while appearing in 30 of the Blazers’ 35 games. Hollinger drove in 35 runs on the season which was the third most on the team and picked up five doubles and three homers for the year.
Macy Funderburk was named to the All-CCS First Team for the first time in her Belhaven career. Funderburk was dominant in the circle for Belhaven this season making 17 starts and 24 appearances overall. Funderburk posted a 14-3 record with a 2.31 ERA which was among the best in the conference. Opponents hit just .213 off the sophomore right-hander and she racked up 126 strikeouts in just 115.1 innings pitched.
Madi Miller was named to the All-CCS First Team for the second straight season and earns her third All-CCS honor overall. Miller had a strong season as the Blazers’ everyday left fielder, hitting. 379 with a .904 OPS while starting every game for Belhaven. Miller was solid defensively and also made an impact on the base paths, swiping a team high 17 bases on a perfect 17 attempts.
Anna Caime was named to the All-CCS Second Team following another great season wearing the Green and Gold. Caime hit .325 on the year with a 1.035 OPS which was the second highest mark on the Blazers’ team. Caime finished the season with nine doubles, eight home runs and 40 RBI which all were the second best marks for the Blazers trailing only Ellie Jones.
Ellie Williamson earns an All-CCS Second Team honor in her first season with the Blazers. Williamson anchored the third base spot for Belhaven for much of the season and had a strong debut campaign, hitting .319 with a .942 OPS. Williamson drove in 27 runs this season and posted a 7-1 walk to strikeout ratio at the plate.
Belle West was named to the All-CCS Second Team for the first time in her Belhaven career as she partnered with Macy Funderburk to give Belhaven a formidable combo in the circle. West made 17 starts and 23 appearances posting a 14-4 record overall. West recorded a 3.00 ERA with a 1.52 WHIP while throwing two complete game shutouts this season.
Rylee Landreaux was named to the All-CCS Sportsmanship Team in her final season with the Blazers. A veteran leader for the program, Landreaux helped contribute on and off the field while plating five runs operating regularly as a pinch runner.
