Ole Miss grabbed a 52-13 win over Georgia Southern

OXFORD, Miss. – The No. 5 Ole Miss football team closed out a perfect 4-0 non-conference schedule with a dominant 52-13 win over Georgia Southern in front of a record crowd of 67,505 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
Ole Miss outgained Georgia Southern 607-194 on the night, holding the Eagles to just 37 yards rushing and 157 passing. The yellow flags were a thorn in Ole Miss’ side for the second straight week as the Rebels overcame 11 penalties for 133 yards for a still-decisive victory.
Lane Kiffin‘s Rebels have outscored their opponents 220-22 through four games. The Ole Miss defense yielded its first touchdown of the 2024 campaign early in the second quarter. The Rebels went 195:47 of game time before allowing their first TD of the season, the program’s most consecutive game time without allowing a touchdown since 1959.
Offensive Leaders
Jaxson Dart continued his Heisman Trophy-caliber pace, going 22-for-31 through the air for 382 yards and four touchdowns, adding 36 yards on the ground. Tre Harris was unstoppable as he finished 23 yards shy of the program’s single-game receiving record, catching 11 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns. Henry Parrish Jr. once again led the ground game, tallying 89 yards and a score on 13 carries.
Defensive Leaders
Chris Paul Jr. paced the Rebel defense with 10 tackles, including two tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Khari Coleman wasn’t far behind with nine tackles and a forced fumble. Princely Umanmielen and Walter Nolen were disruptive as usual up front. Nolen totaled four tackles, including a shared sack, and added a QB hurry. Umanmielen had one sack and two tackles for loss. Brandon Turnagesnatched his first interception in a Rebel uniform.
