Olivia Gleese James, also known as Peaches, was born on June 23, 1945, in the Kings Community of Vicksburg to Johnnie and Charlie Mae Gleese, Sr.

She entered eternal rest on March 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Olivia was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Willie Lee James, Sr., as well as her parents.

A Homegoing Celebration in memory of Olivia Gleese James will be held on March 16, 2024, at Greater Rose Hill Church, located at 683 Stenson Road, Vicksburg, Mississippi, on March 16, 2024, at 11 a.m.

She leaves to cherish her memory seven children: Angela James, Willie (Minnie) James, Jr., Yolanda (Derek) Willis, Tammy (Kenneth) Watts Sr., of Vicksburg, Arlene (Mark) Witter Sr., of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Malcolm (Natasha) James sr., of Durham NC, and Kendell (Angel) James of Biloxi. 24 grandchildren: Brady (Jennifer), Christopher, Dominique, Antonio, Dessiah, Melanie, Danielle, Mark Jr., Jaidyn, Antonio, Taylor (Rajheem), Jereka, Kennith Jr., Robin, Malcolm, Marcus, Michaiah, Kendell Jr., Kiera, Bardashia, Keyonce, and Kemora, 4 great-grandchildren; Ava, Marley, the Late Messiah, and Raegan. 6 sisters: Lula (late James) Cross, late Mattie (late Clyde) Harris Sr., Earlean (late Ollie) Wesley, Linda (Rhodell), Thelma (Joseph) Vann, Sheryl (late Cornelius) Walker, two brothers; Johnnie (Iola) Gleese Jr., Jerrad Gleese, sister in law, Rosie Lee Wilson, Extended family Henry Smith, Robert and Linda Dotson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends may visit the family at 214 Kendra Drive in Vicksburg.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete now, with W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home in charge of them.
