PCA defeated Franklin Academy on Friday night
Vicksburg, Miss.-Porter’s Chapel Academy basketball teams picked up wins over Franklin Academy on Friday night. Both the girls’ and boys’ teams came out victorious.
Girls:
The Lady Eagles earned their first win as they took down FA 24-19.
Franklin Academy was down 13-11 at halftime at halftime after Sophie Masterson knocked down a 3-pointer along with multiple free throws. PCA managed to grab the lead in the second half as Kendall Smith hit a couple of shots while Masterson hit another 3-pointer.
Masterson finished with 13 points and eight rebounds while Smith grabbed eight rebounds to go with her five points. Marley Bufkin had four points and four rebounds and Lexi Whittington had two points and five rebounds.
Boys:
The PCA boys captured a 52-25 win as Jase Jung led the way with 19 points and six rebounds. Corvin Finch also grabbed six rebounds as he put up 11 rebounds while Clayton McClure added six points and four rebounds. Morris Bailey(5 rebounds), Auston Moore(13 rebounds), and Tyler Hatler(1 rebound) all scored four points each. Grayson Price finished with three points and Nathan Austin hit a free throw.
