WC ended Friday night with wins over Columbus

Vicksburg, Miss.-Warren Central High School soccer teams had a successful night against Columbus on Friday. The boys and girls’ team both picked up wins.

Girls:

The Lady Vikes finished with an 8-0 win to stay undefeated in district play(4-0) as they improved to a 13-3 record under Head Coach Jeremy Lawrence.

Jordan Polk came away with three goals and one assist while Rachel Opperman scored twice. Allie Mason, Addi Keller, and Laney Bull all scored one goal in the shutout victory. Jamey Leo came away with three assists while Mason and Hern finished with one. 

Hayleigh Simmons grabbed one save.

Boys:

The Vikings also remain undefeated in district play with an overall 13-1-1 record under Coach Greg Head after beating Columbus 5-1 on Friday.

Jacob Porter, Daniel Westcott, Reed McClurg, Nick Lee, and Luke Bond all scored one goal each in the victory. Bond finished with two assists while Charlie and Duke Esparza both had one. Jamarian Shelley grabbed three saves as well.

The Vikings will host Kosciusko on January 4.
