“I felt super excited and thankful knowing that I get to represent my school at the All-Star Game,” Blackmon said. “I’m also looking forward to playing against some of the most talented athletes.”

Blackmon began playing softball at the age of four where she has since continued to stick with the game she loves throughout her high school.

“Softball in general just helps me keep my mind clear and I love all of my teammates and the moments we shared on the field,” Blackmon said.

Blackmon helped PCA to the first round of the playoffs in 2023 under Head Coach Carlos Dawson. She ended her senior year with a .360 batting average, 18 hits and a .892 fielding percentage.

Blackmon will graduate in May and she plans to pursue a nursing degree at Delta State University and possibly play some college softball.

The MAIS All-Star game will be held at Jackson Prep on October 11.
