Sarah Depperschmidt named assistant softball coach at Mississippi Gulf Coast CC
Sarah Depperschmidt has been appointed as the new assistant softball coach at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, bringing extensive coaching experience and a strong playing background to the team for the 2027 season.

Sarah Depperschmidt has moved into the college softball coaching world at Gulf Coast for 2027, having been part of a state championship staff at George County. She also brings MACCC playing experience to Perk.
She was an assistant on the 2025 Class 6A champs, when the Rebels won the title. The 2026 team made it back to the championship series, losing in three games. Depperschmidt was also the head coach at George County Middle School for those two seasons.
She was an assistant at Baker High School for the 2023 and 2024 seasons, and has been head coach of the Mississippi Bombers Premier 16U team for two seasons.
Depperschmidt played at East Central High School before heading to Pearl River, where she took part in 87 games over two seasons. She completed her playing career at Belhaven, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree, as well as a master’s in business administration.
