Seven Seniors from Jefferson County High School to Earn an Associate’s Degree

FAYETTE, Mississippi – The upcoming graduation ceremony at Copiah-Lincoln Community College on Thursday, May 16, 2024, promises to be a momentous occasion as seven seniors are set to receive their associate degrees. This achievement marks the second cohort from the Jefferson County School District to earn such a distinction, highlighting the dedication and academic excellence of these students.
Superintendent Adrian Hammitte expressed great pride and joy in the accomplishments of these scholars, emphasizing the strong partnership between the district, Copiah-Lincoln Community College, and Alcorn State University. “The district’s commitment to providing equal opportunities to all students has been further solidified by the significant increase in the number of graduates earning associate degrees, rising from two to seven this year,” Hammitte said.
The seven seniors who will be receiving their associate degrees are KyJameonne Bingham, Kasey Lacey, Ean Martin, Tavion Smith, Zavien Tenner, Christy Tyler, and Kelvion Washington. Their dedication, hard work, and academic achievements serve as an inspiration to their fellow students and the entire community.
The graduation ceremony will be a celebration of not only the academic accomplishments of these students but also a testament to the collaborative efforts of the school district, Copiah-Lincoln Community College, and Alcorn State University in providing a pathway to higher education for all students.
