Severe accident on I-20 west between Bovina and 61 North, two ejected; vehicle upside down in ravine on 61 South
Two people were ejected from their vehicle in a severe accident on I-20 West around the 6-mile marker. Multiple units with the Warren County Fire Service, including Fire Boss Jerry Briggs, Rescue, along with several EMTs and deputies, are racing to the scene.
Initial reports say multiple injuries, with two people ejected from their vehicles and a vehicle deep in a ditch in the median between the east and westbound sides. Up to 6 people are injured, according to radio traffic. First responders are working to remove the injured parties from the ravine safely.
At the same time, a vehicle is in the ditch and upside down on 61 South near Old Cain Ridge Road. Fire medic units are working to cover both.
Traffic in the westbound lane is moving slowly with the right lane open at the time of this report.
Heavy rains have made the roadways slippery, and numerous accidents have occurred throughout the day.
