Severe weather threatens this evening


The National Weather Service in Jackson is advising that severe storms are likely for our area later this evening.
According to the service, severe storms are likely this evening through tonight. The main threat will be damaging wind gusts up to 80mph, while large hail up to golf ball size will also be possible. In addition, tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
The area at greatest risk for severe storms is mainly south of Highway 82 corridor, especially in the Interstate 20 to Highway 84 corridors, areas which include Vicksburg and Warren County.
Be weather-aware this evening starting around 7 p.m. Make sure you have several ways to receive information, and be sure to check on your vulnerable neighbors.
