The Magnolia Wildcats took down Heritage Christian Academy in their Spring game

The Magnolia Wildcats took down Heritage Christian Academy 30-6 in their Spring game last week.

Highlights from the game:

16-year-old running back and defensive end Trey Stewart recorded 2 rushing touchdowns for 132 yards on offense, and 2 tackles and 1 fumble recovery on defense.

13-year-old quarterback Ethan Parker recorded 21 rushing yards and was 2/3 in passing with 39 receiving yards and a touchdown pass.

15-year-old fullback, tight end, and nose-guard Byron Jones Jr. recorded 1 rushing and 1 receiving touchdown with 68 rushing yards, 32 receiving yards on offense, and 3 tackles on defense. The first play of the game was a 58-yard rushing touchdown by the fullback.

16-year-old lineman, Dylan Britt recorded 4 tackles and had two 2-point conversions.

13-year-old cornerback Brody Webb recorded an interception that was returned for 51 yards and he had two tackles.

Magnolia Wildcats is a newly formed 8-man football program for homeschooled students and those that attend private schools without football or any sports programs in Hinds/Rankin/Copiah/Madison county and surrounding areas.They offer football from ages 12-18(6th-12th grade) and have both Junior Varsity and Varsity teams.

Coach’s message:

The Wildcats are a Christian-led organization and believe that whether we win or lose, we want our players to have fun and lead by example on and off the field with a strong Christian mindset.

The Wildcats are led by Head Coach James Honeycutt and assistant coaches Brad Patterson, Preston Peoples, and Blake Stanley.
