VDN 2023 All-County Defense
The VDN All-County Defensive Team was selected by the players individual coaches for their excellent play during the 2023 season.
Warren Central:
Gavin Davenport: 88 tackles, 56 solos, one interception and one touchdown
Julien Demby: 117 tackles, 79 solos, five interceptions and three touchdowns
Ben McMullin: 38 tackles, 27 solos, three tackles for loss and one fumble recovery
TK Qualls: 74 tackle, 47 solos and five forced fumbles in only nine games
Garrett Orgas-Fisher: 89 tackles, 66 solos, four interceptions and four pass deflections
Ronnie Blossom: 88 tackles, 59 solos, two sacks, seven pass deflections and two fumble recoveries
Larry Reynolds: 79 tackles, 58 solos, three sacks, two forced fumbles and two pass deflections
Jonah Artman: Completed 6 of 9 field goals(41 long), completed 37 of 40 extra points, rated as one top kickers his class
Vicksburg:
Demarcus Johnson: 100 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, seven sacks and two blocked punts. Participated in the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Game and earned All-District Defensive MVP
Mincer Minor IV: 12 tackles, five pass deflections, two interceptions and only allowed three touchdowns
Tyler Carter: 51 tackles, 6.5 sacks, two pass deflections  and Defensive MVP of the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Game
Dennis Battle: 75 tackles, five sacks, 12 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles
Jadarius Henderson: 37 tackles, 18 solos, four pass deflections and two interceptions(1 td)
Koury Vample: 20 tackles, 14 solos, six pass deflections and one fumble recovery. Earned All-District Defensive Back of the Year
Mikey Johnson: 16 tackles, five pass deflections, four interceptions, one blocked kick and one touchdown
Porter’s Chapel Academy:
Taylor LaBarre: 52 tackles, six interceptions, 30 catches, 382 yards and seven total touchdowns
Hunter Simms: 76 tackles, six tackles for loss, one sack and earned All-MAIS honors
Gavin Pugh: 68 tackles, three tackles for loss, five interceptions, one sack and averaged 47.8 yards per punt
Henry Slayton: 49 tackles, eight sacks and four pass deflections
Conley Johnston: 75 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, seven sacks and earned All-MAIS honors
St. Aloysius:
Caleb Tucker: 52 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and two sacks
Robert Lee: 40 tackles
Pierson Smith: 57 tackles and three tackles for loss
Land Oglesby: 34 tackles, four tackles for loss and two sacks
