VHS Drops to 5A; WC to remain in 6A

Vicksburg, Miss.-A new classification for sports was announced on Tuesday where it shows that Vicksburg High School will drop down to 5A and Warren Central will remain in 6A. Mississippi High School Activities Association released the new districts as well as the classification.

VHS will be in the 5A Region 2 district. Other members of Region 2 are Florence, Lanier, Provine, Holmes County Central, and Cleveland Central.

WC will be in 6A Region 2. Callaway, Canton, Greenville, Neshoba Central, and Ridgeland will also join 6A Region 2.

The new classification will not go into effect until Fall 2025.
