Local author Kelvin Rankin recently published a book with Page Publishing entitled Rankin v. Rankin – A Male’s Perspective of an Elongated Divorce & Custody Fight(s) within the Mississippi Judicial System.

Chronicling events from 2017 to the present, Rankin gives a real-world account of his own divorce experience up to the Mississippi Supreme Court coupled with intense custody interactions with Youth Court, Child Protective Services, law enforcement, and other entities. This two-track compact 50-page book gives the reader an understanding of ‘gray areas’ when men are confronted with divorce and custody issues.

Rankin v. Rankin puts on full display perceived and real gender biases that creep into the decision-making process related to divorce and custody as related to perceptions of social and judicial norms.

Early copies of the book may be found on Amazon at and other outlets even as the work is still being prepared for audio and distribution on a wider scale for full release within the month. Additional correspondence can be obtained at
