Vicksburg Woman Sentenced Directing a Child to Commit a Felony
VICKSBURG, MS. – A Vicksburg woman was sentenced last week on a charge of Directing a Child to Commit a Felony. On Friday, Judge James Chaney sentenced Laquesha Davis to 10 years in prison for the crime.
The Vicksburg woman, Laquesha Davis pleaded guilty last month after her initial charge was downgraded to Directing a Child to Commit a Felony. Back in 2021, Davis along with then-15-year-old Demarion Reed, was charged with First Degree Murder of Malik Vallerie. 21-year-old Vallerie was shot to death on a basketball court in the Waltersville area. His body was found after he collapsed shortly from where the incident took place in the Kings Community.
Reed took his case to trial in 2024 where he was acquitted at the age of 17. After Reed’s trial, Davis pleaded guilty to the lesser charge. She is now in custody of the Warren County Jail until she is transported to the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
