Wade Gilliland named 2025 Kiwanis Firefighter of the Year

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Wade Gilliland of the Vicksburg Fire Department has been named the 2025 Firefighter of the Year by the Kiwanis Club of Vicksburg.

Gilliland, who has served with the Vicksburg Fire Department since 2017, was recognized at a ceremony where he received a certificate of appreciation. In 2023, he was promoted to Lieutenant and a ceremony was held at the Vicksburg Auditorium.

“In appreciation for commendable and dedicated service to the Vicksburg Fire Department and the Vicksburg community,” the certificate reads. “On the 17th day of June 2025, the Kiwanis Club of Vicksburg recognizes and honors Kenneth Wade Gilliland as the 2025 Firefighter of the Year.”

Gilliland’s recognition highlights his commitment and contributions to public safety and his dedication to serving the citizens of Vicksburg.
