WC boys placed first at the WC Invitational

Warren Central boys’ track team finished Tuesday night in first place at the WC Invitational.

Dwight Palmer(22.76) won the 200m while VHS’ Koury Vample(23.22) came in second. Vample also won the 110 hurdles(14.75)and 300m(40.26) hurdles.

Stanley Doyle(52.36) and Michael Godshaw(53.42) came in first and second place in the 400m. Defending state champion Jonathan Henderson jumped 6’6 to come out on top in the high jump followed by JC’s Royale Shelvy. WC’s Harber Williams also earned first place in the pole vault(8’5).

For VHS, Cedric Blackmore(38’2) came in second place in the shot put while Ricky Neal(40’6) also came in second in the triple jump.

Gavin Davenport(110-06) stayed on top of things in the Discus while Shaun Archer Jr(106-09) came in second. Casey Brown(2:.24.16), Chester Savage(44.45 300m hurdles), Derrick Rainey(16.86, 110 hurdles), Zack Evans(11.42, 100m), Conner Leverette(13:45.73, 3200m)all came in second place in their events.

Rohan Caples(2:16.93, 800m) and Will Bates(12:40.97, 3200m) both grabbed first place honors.

The Vikings’ 4X100 team which consisted of Evans, Garrett Orgas, Palmer and Cameron Eaddy helped WC place first(44.20). They also won the 4X200 with the help of Doyle. With a time of 3:51.64, Godshaw, Henderson, Savage and Doyle all won the 4X400 meter relay. Roosevelt Harris, Godshaw, Savage and Ashton Wright were victorious in the 4X800(10:09.42).
