WC opens district play with a 22-0 win over Ridgeland

VICKSBURG, Miss.—Warren Central High School’s softball team opened up district play on Tuesday with a shutout victory over Ridgeland. The Lady Vikes crushed the Titans 22-0 in five innings to start district play with a 1-0 regional record.
Maddy Pant had a stellar performance in the win as she threw a no-hitter while striking out 14 batters on the night. She also hit two doubles and went 3 for 4 at bat with two RBIs.
The Lady Vikes collected a total of 16 hits in the win. KeKe McKay hit a triple and went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI while Anzley Keen went 2 for 4 with three RBIs. Mary Clell Allred hit a triple and went 2 for 3 with three RBIs. Emily Muirhead also smashed a triple and an RBI while MK Ferguson(1 RBI), Kennadi Williams(double), Addi Mullen(1 RBI), Sydney Hern, Whitley Parks(1 RBI), and KK Williamson(1 RBI) all had one hit.
The Lady Vikes are now 5-8 on the season and they will travel to face Columbus on Friday.
