Missy Gators knocks off West Lincoln 7-1

Brookhaven, Miss.—Vicksburg High School softball team went on the road on Tuesday and came back with a 7-1 win over West Lincoln. Tonight’s victory marks the Missy Gators’ third win in the last four games.

VHS got on the board first in the opening inning after Shandrea Lockridge hit a triple. By the fourth inning, the Missy Gators had a 3-0 lead after Harmony Harris and Makynzie Dunmore hit RBIs. Westcott Lincoln got their lone run in the fourth inning as well.

VHS maintained their 3-1 lead until the final inning when the bats got hot. Zion Harvey, Harris, and Lili Kistler hit RBIs in the seventh inning while Lockridge walked to put the final score at 7-1.

Lockridge went 3 for 3 with 1 RBI while Avery VanNorman, Harvey(1 RBI), Harris(2 RBIs), and Kistler(1 RBI) all had one hit. Dunmore had one RBI in the win. 

Kistler struck out two batters on the night.

VHS will travel to play Ridgeland on March 31.
