“I’m real excited because this has been a long haul now, I’m looking forward to three days of rest,” WC Head Coach Greg Head said. “The defense did a great job, and we stayed with our game plan and switched formations towards the end.”

The Vikings quickly struck first as Daniel Westcott scored the first goal of the night. Charlie Esparza came in with the second goal to put the score at 2-0 at the end of the first half.

Coming out of halftime, the Vikings controlled the clock as multiple players pushed the ball down the field. Jamarian Shelley came away with multiple saves and only allowed one goal which was from a penalty kick.

As WC led 2-1, Jacob Porter did what he does best which was get the ball through the net for another Viking goal. Westcott soon put the game away as he brought home the final score of the night with less than two minutes left to play.

“I feel like we played a really great game because we played on the level we knew we could play on,” Westcott said. “Coach gave us a motivational speech before the game and that really helped us but going back to North State is going to be magical and I know we’re ready for anything.”

Although multiple players cramped up in the game, WC found a way to finish out on top and will compete for North State once again on Tuesday. They will face the winner of the Olive Branch vs. Center Hill game which will be played on Saturday.
